What is AELDER?+
AELDER gives developers and AI enthusiasts access to multiple AI models through one OpenAI-compatible API. Save up to 92% compared with official API prices, with one key and one USD balance. Usage is pay-as-you-go: you pay for the tokens you use, with no subscription or monthly fee.
Will a model behave exactly like it does through another API?+
Not necessarily. Model versions, quantization, reasoning settings and supported features can differ between API services. The external benchmarks on our model pages describe their labelled evaluation configurations, not a guarantee of identical behaviour through AELDER. After API access opens, check the exact model ID and test the features your workflow needs.
How do I connect my AI agent or coding tool?+

For supported coding tools, we recommend the OpenCodex setup guide: add your AELDER API key once, choose your models and manage connections from one local dashboard.

Prefer a direct connection? If your tool supports a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint, enter https://aelder.dev/v1 as the base URL and use your AELDER API key. Follow the guide for your tool for the exact settings and model selection. For requests from your own code, see the API reference.

How do I switch my existing code?+
Set the base URL in any OpenAI-compatible SDK to https://aelder.dev/v1 and use your AELDER API key. See the OpenAI SDK examples for setup, streaming and tool calls. If you work with the Claude SDK, the same key works with the Anthropic-style /v1/messages endpoint. Follow the Anthropic SDK examples.
Do you store my prompts or train on them?+
We do not save prompt or response content in our platform logs or use it to train models. Your requests pass through our platform to external infrastructure for processing. External parties apply their own policies, which may permit retention or use for training; we cannot guarantee otherwise. Usage logs contain technical metadata such as the model, tokens, time, cost and IP address. Do not send passwords, API keys or confidential data if this processing is unacceptable to you.
Is there a subscription or monthly fee?+
No. You top up a USD balance from $5 and pay only for the tokens you use.
How do I top up my balance?+
Open your dashboard, choose an amount from $5, and pay in USDC on the supported network shown at checkout. Your first top-up gets a matching bonus of up to $20. Top-ups also qualify for amount-based bonuses: +5% from $20, +10% from $50, +15% from $100. Both bonuses add up on your first top-up. See top-up bonuses for examples.
